How to Sell with Us
A Curated Approach to Watch Auctions
GooGavel is not an open marketplace.
We operate as a curated auction platform, selecting timepieces that meet our standards of quality, authenticity, and collector relevance.
Our model combines the precision of traditional auction houses with a streamlined, digital-first experience.
The result:
A controlled environment where serious sellers meet qualified buyers.
Submit Your Watch
Begin by submitting your watch through our platform.
Required details:
- Brand, model, and reference
- Condition and service history
- Accessories (box, papers, etc.)
- Images (initial submission quality can be simple)
Our team reviews every submission individually.
Evaluation & Acceptance
Once submitted, your watch undergoes a curation and evaluation process.
We assess:
- Authenticity indicators
- Market demand and collectability
- Pricing potential within an auction format
- Not every watch is accepted.
This selective approach ensures:
- Higher buyer confidence
- Stronger bidding activity
- Better realized prices
Auction Strategy & Agreement
If your watch is accepted, we define the optimal auction structure together.
This includes:
- Reserve price (minimum sale price, if applicable)
- Auction duration
- Positioning and storytelling
A formal agreement is signed outlining:
- Fees
- Seller obligations
- Payment terms
Inspection & Professional Presentation
For accepted watches, GooGavel arranges:
- Physical inspection (Dubai-based, where applicable)
- Authentication checks
- Condition reporting
- Professional photography and listing creation
Each watch is presented with the same level of care expected from leading auction houses.
Auction Goes Live
Your watch is introduced to a curated audience of collectors.
During the auction:
- Buyers are pre-verified
- All bids are binding
- Real-time bidding ensures full price transparency
Our structured system is designed to create competitive bidding environments, not passive listings.
Successful Sale
Once the auction concludes:
- The highest bidder enters a binding purchase obligation
- GooGavel manages the full transaction process
- Payment is collected securely from the buyer
Seller Payout
After the buyer completes payment:
- Funds are processed and transferred to you
- Typical payout timeline: 5–10 business days after payment clearance
- All transactions are handled with a focus on security, speed, and transparency.
Fees
GooGavel operates a simple and transparent fee structure:
- Listing Fee: $500
- (Waived during initial launch period)
- Buyer’s Premium: 10%
- (Paid by the buyer, not deducted from your hammer price)
- Any additional terms are clearly defined prior to auction launch.
In Case of Non-Payment by Buyer
While rare, GooGavel enforces strict protocols to protect sellers.
If a winning bidder fails to complete payment:
- Their deposit is forfeited
- The lot may be offered to the next highest bidder
- Alternative solutions are executed to secure the sale
Our system is designed to ensure that sellers are not exposed to unnecessary risk.
